Abstract (EN)
In this study, SVET (Strengthening the Vocational Education and Training System in Turkey) which is the biggest and the most extensive application of modular educational system in Turkey is considered and Afyonkarahisar Central Anatolian Technical High School and Industrial Professional High School Electric Department is adopted to this system.SVET is introduced and the application of modular system in the world and in Turkey is also mentioned by giving general information about professional and technical education.According to the SVET, it is explained how Electric Department became Electric ?Electronic Department, given information about field teaching programme and introduced the sub-branches of the professionThe information is given about the students? gains who have been a student in this system that is prepared according to the SVET project and the method and duration of the education is explainedA questionnaire has been done about the field and its branches for the business enterprise in Afyonkarahisar and its surrounding. With this questionnaire, it is found out which sub-branches of the profession and how much is needed. Smilarly, branch choosing questionnaire is done for the students who are attending the 10th grade and having field lessons which are held in common after giving informative seminars about branches.After the data of these two questionnaires which are done, is studied the diagrams are drawn and commended on them and finally the branches which are needed in this field are determined. The lessons and the module which are going to be studied in Industrial Professional High School, Technical High School and Anatolian Technical High School are chosen.In order to apply the modular system successfully, some physical alterations are planned. Wide shops and labs of the department are converted into smaller and more efficient places. In addition to these the inner design plans of the shops and labs are done according to the modular system.In this way, the modular system whish is formerly applied to pilot institution thoroughly in Turkey and later on to Electric Department. Then a new name is given to this department as ` Electric ? Electronic Technology Field.?
