Ahlat dialect

In this study, the texts from Saka village and Ahlat county town between years 2010-2012 have been compiled and these compiled texts' grammar analysis has been made and glossary has been formed. In the glossary the etymology of each word has been provided as far as possible. Our study called '' Ahlat Dialect '' is consisted of ''analysis, texts and glossary'' sections. First of all, the recorded sounds have been written out and then profiling for each word has been made. While profiling, the sentences that the words take place have also been given and grammar analysis has been made based on the sentences.When the analysed texts have been examined the similarities with the other Anatolian dialects and Turkish languages have been put forward when the occasion arises. Furthermore; the features which are similar to the Old Turkic and Old Anatolian Turkish have been pointed out. In the phoneticals part sound events associated with vowels and consonants that are not found in written language have been given. In the morphologicals section, parts of speech and syntax have been included and the points that differentiate from written language have also been stressed. Every word mentioned in the texts is addressed in the glossary part and their origins are demonstrated as far as possible. Sir Gerard Clauson's An Etymological Dictionary of Pre-thirteenth Century Turkish (1972) is used for the old Turkish words, Francis Joseph Steingass' A Comprehensive Persian-English Dictionary (1892) is used for Arabic and Persian words Ferdinand Lessing's Mongolian English Dictionary (1960) is used for Mongolian words and Robert Dankoff's Armenian Loanwords in Turkish (1995) is used for Armenian words. Besides, TDK Türkçe Sözlük is used for the words that have been quoted from other languages. As for the glossary, Mehmet Ölmez's Tuwinischer Wortschatz mit alttürkischen und mongolischen Parallelen - Tuvacanın Sözvarlığı Eski Türkçe ve Moğolca Denklikleriyle- (2007) is used . Since it is the first time that every word's origin is demonstrated in a dialect study, we have limited the page number of our compilation to 113. Therefore we have only placed selections from 12 people. We have cared about our decision to choose people over fifty and with primary school, or literate people.
