The research on Ahmed Adnan Saygun's Taşbebek opera and Necil Kâzım Akses's Bayönder opera in the context of modern nation design

In the first years of the Turkish Republic, the government was tried to reach the aim of modern nation design in music and social life by using the opera compositions. The young republic brought up the new musical artists, the conservatory and planned their existence as a steppingstone to attain their target. This thesis purpose to search the impact and contribution of the new regime's ideals in musical changement by ordering two opera's named Taşbebek and Bayönder for celebrating the 15th anniversary of Atatürk's arrival to Ankara. Ahmed Adnan Saygun and Necil Kâzım Akses who was in the middle of this revolutionary changement in young republic's music development also searched in with their compositions and their ideas of musical reform. Furthermore,tried to reveal the components that prepared the musical reform, how was the approaches and strategies of Atatürk's lead this subject, was this musical reform movement succeed or not in different perspectives, what was changed or not changed after this movement, how and which instruments used in this musical reform movement. The idea of create a new perfect generation for the modern nation design especially described in Taşbebek opera and it has shown how it should be this transformation. First of all young republic has chosen the talented young musicians by making exam in Music Teacher's School in Ankara and sent those chosen young musicians to Europe's best conservatories for education with scholarship. And provided them opportunities to create new compositions and started the establisment works of new conservatory in Ankara to reach the aim of desired target. Turkish polyphonic music based of Turkish folk music and own culture combination and in the direction of this musical reform, the aimed social changement and modern nation design kindled by the power of music. In this work, in the phase of the modern nation design, the effect and the contribution of Ahmed Adnan Saygun's Taşbebek Opera and Necil Kâzım Akses Bayönder Opera's disclosed in holistic perspective.
