Abstract (EN)

The main goal of this thesis is finding the motivations of the relations between Turkey and Syria when Ahmet Davutoğlu was the Foreign Minister. To find this motivation two international relations theories was compared. These theories are neorealism and social constructivism. Mainly the arguments of Waltz are used for neorealism and the arguments of Wendt for social constructivism. The theories were tested in the period between the starting of Ahmet Davutoğlu's rulling and the the first memorandum about sending army to Syria. The hypothesis of this thesis is the main motivation of the reliatons between Turkey and Syria is power and identities are used just for it. Literature review was used as research technic. In first chapter the arguments of theories were compared. In the second chapter the policies of Justice and Development Party were mentioned and in the last chapter relations between Turkey and Syria was examined.
