Abstract (EN)

Theatre; actor, stage, audience, text, etc. It is a collective art branch that includes all of the elements together and its history dates back to ancient times. Theatre has two dimensions, based on showing and telling. Although theatre is a stage activity, the plays, which are the written forms of this art branch, also make the theatre a literary genre. Ahmet Kutsi Tecer, who stands out with his identity as a poet as well as a playwright, has five plays that have reached us. Tecer, who has kneaded his understanding of art within the tradition of folk literature, has adopted the understanding of "we too theatre" in theatre as in poetry. Tecer, who is a poet of the republican period and closely followed and supported the reforms made in this period, tried to reshape the theatre, which he witnessed closely in the West, within the framework of the traditions of his own society. Arguing that there cannot be an understanding of art independent of the people, Tecer continued these views in the theatre and wrote his plays in this direction. Although Tecer has eleven known plays, only four of them have been published as a book and have survived to the present day. Some of his other plays were only played and some were not completed. Tecer, who was interested in theatre from an early age, was in favor of using folk culture and materials in his plays as well as his poems. Thinking that folklore should be used in his understanding of art, Tecer also benefited from contemporary techniques in his plays. In his first play, Köşebaşı, which was published in 1947 and staged many times, the daily neighborhood life of Rüstempaşa, an old district of Istanbul, is described. This work, which was later translated into English by Nüvit Özdogru as The Neighborhood, is Tecer's best-known and most successful work. Koçyiğit Köroğlu play, which was serialized in Ülkü Magazine between 1941-1942 and played in 1949, takes its subject from the story "Köroğlu". In his play titled Bir Pazar Günü (A Sunday Day, 1959), Tecer adapted the cultural degeneration and conflict of values into a contemporary technique with the content of the middle game. In Satılık Ev (The House for Sale, 1961) he criticizes people who view counterfeiting, corruption, and imitation as novelty. In addition to these, in the play Yazılan Bozulmaz, which we reached the typewriter text and included in our study during our thesis work, the village life and destiny were processed. Despite the great importance Ahmet Kutsi Tecer gives to theatre, no independent study has been done on this aspect of him. Our thesis work, which is the first on this subject, will consist of three parts: "Introduction", "The Sources of Ahmet Kutsi Tecer Theatre" and "Analysis of Ahmet Kutsi Tecer's Plays". "Analysis of Ahmet Kutsi Tecer's Plays", which is the main subject of our thesis, has seven sub-sections as "fiction", "themes", "perspective and narrator", "personal staff", "space", "time" and "narration techniques". will be discussed under this heading. In this direction, the plays Koçyiğit Köroğlu, Yazılan Bozulmaz, Köşebaşı, Bir Pazar Günü and Satılık Ev, which are the subject of our study, will be analyzed using qualitative research methods.
