Evaluation of Ahmet Yesevi's Divân-ı Hikmet in terms of faith

Ahmet Yesevi, one of the important names of Turkish-Islamic Literature and History, was born in the town of 'Sayram' in Turkestan. Although his exact date of birth is not known, it is accepted that he was born in the middle of the fifth century AH. Ahmet Yesevi is one of the personalities who played a very important role in the Turks' gaining a national and religious identity. It is seen that Yesevi, who has a great prestige in the Turkish world, deals with the work called "Divan-ı Hikmet", which is the subject of our study, with a religious understanding based on the Qur'an and sunnah. In this study, we tried to reveal the theological issues in Yesevi's wisdom within the framework of this work. We aimed to look at Yesevi's world of thought from a wider perspective by comparing the belief topics in this work, where we see the deep effects of Ahl al-Sunnah belief, as well as the views of other theological sects. The issues related to theology, prophethood and sem'iyyat, which constitute the three main principles of Islamic belief and are accepted as the basic parts of the science of Kalam, are discussed in the context of Divan-ı Hikmet, and this study has emerged by making use of the sources accepted as reliable.
