Abstract (EN)

The scope of our study deals with Ahmet Zühdü Pasha and his work al-Mecmûʻa, the part of marriage in terms of Islamic law. It is a fiqh work written in the catechism type, which was taught as a course book in al-Mecmûʻa high school and sultani schools. While preparing this work, Zühdü Pasha benefited from classical fiqh works. Although Zühdü Pasha is mostly known as the Minister of Finance, he served as the Minister of Education and many other duties. Zühdü Pasha is also among the founders of Dâru'l-Fünûn. Our introduction and evaluation of this work and presenting its latinized version will enable us to introduce and benefit from an example of a catechism written at that time. In the first part of our study, al-Mecmûʻa will be evaluated both as a fiqh and a textbook, in the second part, it will be compared with The Ottoman Law of Family Right in terms of fiqh, and in the last part, Zühdü Pasha's al-Mecmûʻa will be latinized and presented to the benefit of today's scientific world.
