Abstract (EN)
The use of wood as a building material dates back to ancient times. Wood, which is among the most frequently used natural building materials, is used second only to stone. With the development of technology, the use of wood in buildings has been replaced by steel and reinforced concrete. Increasing the reuse of wood, which is a sustainable material, requires a good understanding of wood. In this study, the mechanical properties of wood and its use in carrier systems are discussed and it is stated that wood is an orthotropic material and shows different behaviors in different directions. It was emphasized that wood has a heterogeneous structure and its mechanical properties vary depending on the orientation of the fibers; Mechanical properties such as elastic behavior, compressive strength, tensile strength, bending strength and shear strength are emphasized. Information is given about the history of the use of wood as a building material, its development, its current importance and wooden carrier systems. In this context, detailed information about the history, architectural plan, construction technique and materials of the Katharina Mansion located in Sarıkamış, which was selected as a sample site study, was given and the earthquake risk of the region was evaluated together with the earthquakes. Within the scope of the study, the roof structural system of Katharina Av Köşkü, was modeled by using the SAP 2000 program and analyzed by creating a load and load combination in accordance with TS-498, TS-647 and TBDY (2018).
