Abstract (EN)

Forty hadiths have become one of the cornerstones of Turkish-Islamic literature over time, as they contain many literary, social and religious features. This species, which developed by giving more mature examples with each passing century, lived its golden age in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. The first half of the 18th century, especially during the reign of III. Ahmed (1703-1730), was a very rich period in terms of forty hadith translations. Many forty hadith translations were written dedicated to III. Ahmed. Written by Şa'bân-zâde Abdullah Vâsıf Efendi and written by the prose translation of forty hadiths called Ahsenu'l-Haber min-Kelâmi Seyyidi'l-Beşer, which was presented to III. Ahmed during his accession to the throne (H. 1115 / M. 1703), is one of these literary products. Content of the study; forty hadith translation tradition, life and literary personality of Şa'bân-zâde Abdullâh Vâsıf Efendi, copies of Ahsenu'l-Haber min-Kelâmi Seyyidi'l-Beşer and description of three copies reached, pedigrees of copies, criticism made with three copies. The transcription of the text publication, the examination of the work in terms of its content and orthographic features, and the dictionary study of the work. The main purpose of the study is to provide the reader with a text that is the same as the text that came out of the author's pen (Ateş, 1942: 255) by means of critical text publication and to facilitate the reading of the work by transferring this work, which was written in Ottoman Turkish, to the Latin-origin Turkish alphabet, and to make the work available to the scientific world is to present. In the first part of this four-part study, the tradition of translation of forty hadiths, the life and literary personality of Şa'bân-zâde Abdullâh Vâsıf Efendi, the copies of Ahsenu'l-Haber min-Kelâmi Seyyidi'l-Beşer, the description of the existing three copies of the work, and the copies belonging to the copies pedigrees are included. The second part of the study consists of the examination of the work and its evaluation in terms of orthographic features. In the third part, the transcripted version of the critical text publication made with the existing three copies of the work; in the fourth section, there is a dictionary study of the work. As a result of the studies on Ahsenu'l-Haber min-Kelâmi Seyyidi'l-Beşer, it has been concluded that the work, besides being a translation of forty hadith, also carries a biography identity due to the large sections devoted to the life stories of hadith narrators
