The role of religious education in the contribution to the family institution

The aim of our research is to examine the contributions of religious education to the family institution. The research was conducted in Çorum district of Çorum province. The sample of the study consists of 20 married people living in this region. Within the scope of the research, firstly a conceptual framework on family institution and religious education has been given. At the same time, the importance of moral and spiritual elements that ensure the continuity of the family is emphasized. A literature review was made on the subject and in this context, studies on the subject in the thesis center of YÖK were investigated. In the application part of the study, 10 open-ended questions were asked to the participants determined for the sample group of the research by applying face-to-face interview form. The information obtained as a result of the interviews were analyzed in the light of education methods and previously studied academic studies. The analysis also included the statistics of the Family Research Institute. Our research consists of three sections after the introduction. In the introduction part, information about the problem, purpose, method, model, universe and sample, limitations, data collection, analysis and evaluation of the research are given. In the first part, the concepts related to the subject of our research are defined and explained within the scope of religious education. The concept of religious education in the family and the basic principles of family education are explained as sub-headings to shed light on our studies. The moral and spiritual elements that provide the continuity of the family after marriage are explained. In the third section, the collected data are transferred with the help of tables, the survey results and evaluations are compared with other researches in the literature. In the conclusion, evaluation and suggestions were made. The findings reached in this study, in which the role of religious education in the contribution to the family institution was investigated, supports this view. So much that the majority of the participants in the reseach stated that religious education is important for the family institution. The majority of the participants provide religious education to their children, reading books that provide religious information in their homes, as well as referring religious teachings to problems with each other and their spouses.
