The need for social work practices in family health centers: Van province example

Abstract (EN)

Social work practices are at different levels according to the social, economic and developmental characteristics of each country. In modern health care, it is envisaged that the services in the health sector will be carried out in a coordinated manner with the social service in order to improve the quality of care. Van sample was taken in this study. Family health centers, which are one of the primary health care facilities in Van sample, were dealt with the social service perspective and the need for social work practices in the centers was analyzed. The research was carried out by a quantitative method. Data were collected from questionnaires for 151 family physicians in Family Health Centers. Some family physicians were interviewed before the surveys were conducted. The data obtained from the survey were analyzed with SPSS program. According to this; family physicians' Family Health Center Evaluation scale "Do you think that the facilities in your center are sufficient (time, staff, interview room, etc.) to interfere with the psychosocial problems of the individuals and families registered to you?" The average of 2.11 ± 0.56 was the highest, "In your opinion, should family and health care centers provide psychosocial support to individuals and families in addition to medical problems?" The mean of the substance is 1.03 ± 0.17.It was concluded that 66.9% of the family physicians participated in the statement ist I would like to provide counseling on prevention of child neglect and abuse . Based on the results of the analysis, suggestions were developed.
