Abstract (EN)
Public diplomacy, a form of diplomacy in which the public is an important actor, depends on soft power and non-state actors. Turkey, starting with 2000's, tried to use public diplomacy effectively in order to transfer and creation of soft power. In this study, it is argued that the international developments in the post-Cold War period have brought public diplomacy to the agenda and that constructivist theory constitutes the theoretical framework of public diplomacy with the effect of social dimension gaining importance. Specific topic of the thesis, after the Cold War, especially in the Justice and Development Party (JDP) period, examines the developments in Turkey's public diplomacy practices. As an example of public diplomacy, applications will be assessed Turkey's development aids policy.
