Abstract (EN)

In this research, we investigated flood modelling of Akarçay Basin which is located between Central Anatolia, Aegean and Mediterranean regions in Turkey and is on 30° - 32° east longitude and 38° - 39° north latitude. Akarçay Basin which has an impermeable soil layer and has drainage area which is 7 340 km2 is a closed depression basin. With the effects of snow melting and irregular rains, some streams in the basin can get dry in summer months.Flood modelling of Akarçay Basin was created in Surface-water Modelling System (SMS) program. While the model was creating, the steps of defining basin boundaries, digital elevation data, hydrologic - meteorologic observation stations aid ArcGIS program and entering hydrologic and meteorologic parameters into program were followed. In modeling streams in the basin, FESWMS and ADH module which gives good results in surface water and shallow water modelling was used in SMS program. In consequence of this study, in modelling many settlement hasn?t flood risk, but especially agriculture lands in some regions near sides of stream can be made damages after flood was seen.
