A DIAGNOSTIC EXPERT SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING AND TROUBLESHOOTING LOCAL AREA NETWORK OF AKDENİZ UNIVERSITY COMPUTER RESEARCH AND APPLICATION CENTER YILDHUM, Pınar Akdeniz University Institute of Health Sciences M.S. Thesis Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Osman SAKA Antalya, 1995 ABSTRACT In this study, a knowledgebase expert system, is developed for controlling the network of Akdeniz University Computer Research and Application Center while controlling the network, this expert system detects and diagnosis faults and presents a variety of solutions. The expert system named COMEX(Communication Expert) is developed by forward chaining inference engine on Xi Plus expert system shell. COMEX, acting as a network manager proposes technical advices to remedy faults and problems in the network. Keywords: Data Communications, Network, Expert Systems. 90
