The formation of Elmalılı Muhammed Hamdı Yazır's religious in the context of the connection between reason and faith

In this study we mentioned about Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır whom a philosopher who studied in a lot of scientific fields like kalam, interpretation, fiqh, islamic mysticism, art, politics, and philosophy and he made a great impact to islamic discipline. He is an excellent alim who educated himself enough to write literary works in many scientific fields because of the İslamic education in he took in madrasa. But some of his works published and some of them didn't. Also he tracked West and he had the possibility to examine the intellectual movements closely. Our work consists of two parts. In the prologue the subject, purpose, method and some works about the subject along with the life of our philosopher is mentioned. In the first part we mentioned about the concepts of reason and faith in general terms and examined them in terms of religious philosophy. Then we mentioned the connection between reason and faith according to Yazır. In here we elaborated on how our philosopher evaluates the concepts of reason, faith and self control. Thus we tried to make an analysis about the connection between reason and faith. In the second part we gave place to main concepts and thoughts which the enables the formation of his religious ideas within the context of the connection of reason-faith. Because the connection of reason and faith isn't just a case that concerns only Islam but whole beliefs. This raises the question of whether a person has a purely rational attitude in terms of faith and his mind as a measure of everything, or whether it is also a whole with the dimension of emotion in terms of the influence of revelation on the mind.
