Smart cities the case of Osmaniye

The economic and social opportunities brought by city life have made it more attractive for people to settle in cities from rural areas. However, with the rapid population growth in cities, there is a need for more efficient use of resources such as energy, water and electricity. In this context, it is inevitable that cities, where people live collectively, have developed rules and systems in terms of transportation, communication, daily life and working life. The concept of "Smart City" emerges, in which all systems, integrated structures, management and people communicate with each other at a high level, with the support of technology, in order to use the resources in the cities efficiently and to ensure the sustainability of the city life. The concept of Smart City is an up-to-date and technology-based concept brought to city administrations today. Especially with the widespread use of internet infrastructure and the increase in data exchange rate, smart city management contents have been enriched. In this study, the concept of smart city was tried to be defined by making a literature review. In this study, which deals with smart city applications and the necessity of these applications, the situation in Osmaniye will be evaluated in the light of the sustainability principle.
