Abstract (EN)

Recently, the most important subject regarding the global climate change problem is the use of electric energy in an environmentally friendly, reliable and efficient manner. Since the beginning of the 21st century, smart grid technologies have become one of the popular investigation fields. Therefore, a period of change has begun in the power systems based on centralized generation. Together with the smart grid concept, change from centralized generation units to distributed generation units have begun in conventional grids. This transformation provides a great opportunity to eliminate many problems such as related to the disadvantages of energy efficiency, reliability, power quality, and aging power system infrastructure. Distributed generation based on variable and unpredictable renewable energy, and variable feature consumption units can entail a risk about power system stability. Thanks to the applications of smart grid technology, the balance of variable generation and consumption can manage in the best way. So system stability can be achieved. In this study, the effects of variable and unpredictable distributed generation and variable consumption units on system stability are investigated. First of all, hypothetical generation and consumption profiles have been formed to reflect the uncertainties in generation and consumption. Then, selected IEEE power systems have modified to add these profiles to establish stability testing systems. While voltage stability was examined through using uncertain changes in the distributed generation and consumption structure, rotor angle and frequency stability were examined through the failure scenarios for each system. As a result of the study, distributed generation and variable consumption form different effect for each system. According to the analysis procedure, it has been observed deteriorations in system stability, as well as improvements.
