Abstract (EN)

The need for nutrition science and importance of habits in nutrition are increasing in human life. Most of higher education students study away from their families and this situation affects their habits of nutrition. This study aimed at determining the attitudes of students at AKÜ Veterirnary Faculty towards nutrition, health, physical activity, and hygiene. Considering the responses of students, it has been determined that students consume 1. Group, 2. Group and 3. Group foods at frequency of one or two days in a week, and feed on mainly carbohydrates. Consumption of fizzy drinks, ready to eat and fast-foods are common among students and water consumption levels of students are not adequate. The rate of students on diet was low and students did not have any complaints about hygiene of their environment. They do not any physicial activities. In conclusion it appears that the students of AKÜ Veterinary Faculty participated in this study had a moderate level knowledge and awarness about nutrition.
