Abstract (EN)
Arginine is an essential amino acid and has many vital importance. Acute exercise is a type of exercise that has negative effects on metabolism. In this thesis, the effects of L-arginine on the liver tissues and fatty acids of acutely exercised rats were investigated. The rats were divided into control (C), L-arginine (R), acute exercise (A), and acute exercise + L-arginine (AR) groups. Acute exercise was performed on a treadmill. At the end of the experiment, MDA, GSH, CES, AChE, GST, GR, and fatty acid levels in the liver tissues of rats were examined. The MDA level was found to be the highest in group A. The MDA level in group AR decreased compared to group A. The GSH level in group A decreased compared to group K. The GSH level in group A increased in group AR. The GR enzyme activity level in group A decreased compared to group K. No difference was observed between the GST enzyme activity levels of all groups. The CES enzyme activity level in group A decreased in group AR. The ACh>E enzyme activity levels in groups A and R increased compared to group K. No difference was observed between the ∑SFA, ∑USFA, ∑PUFA, and ∑MUFA levels of all groups. The study results suggest that L-Aginine has a protective effect on the liver tissues of acutely exercised rats.
