Abstract (EN)
This thesis aims to study the views of 15th century Ottoman scholar Alaaddin Musannifek (d. 875/1470) on Arabic grammar. The main sources of the research are the commentaries produced by Musannifek on Omar al-Taftazani's (d. 792/1389) Irshad al-hadi and Mutarrizi's (d. 610/1213) al-Misbah. When these commentaries and related source works are examined using the qualitative approach and the scanning method, it is seen that Musannifek employs examples from the Qur'an, hadith, poetry, Arabic literature, ijma', qiyas, istishab and istiqra while explaining the nahiv subjects. It is understood that Musannifek particularly focused on some grammar topics such as izafet, hal, zarf and hatta in his works. Although he generally is in agreement with Basra School of Arabic grammar, he supported the Kufa School when they have stronger evidence on certain issues. Musannifek can be descried as one of the important representatives of the Ottoman nahw tradition with his unique annotation method, language, critical approaches and interpretations.
