Settlement model and architecture of Alaca Höyük Hittite Empire Period

In this study, which named "Settlement Model and Architecture of the Hittite Imperial Period of Alaca Höyük" the second structure level architecture of Alaca Höyük located in Alaca Höyük Village of Çorum Province in Alaca District was researched. In this connection, the drawings of the structures that were brought into open in the previous years were revised and the drawings ere re-made in digital environment (AutoCAD). The drawings were estimated together with the drawings of the stuctures which released during the excavations of the new session and the city model was created on topographic map. It was investigated that which materials used in the ruins and how these materials were obtained in Hittite Imperial Period in Alaca Höyük. Thanks to the architectures and architectural construction techniques used in architucture, the architectures of the period were estimated one by one. While the architectures were estimated, it was tried to determine that architectural materials, varietie of the findings and the materials that were used. Thanks to the plan, structure materials, context of the findings and construction techniques the function of the structures was tried to be determined. The architectural structures of the period were compared with the centers in the Hittite core region. Architectural characteristics and funtional features of uptown of Alaca Höyük have been tried to be determined with the comparison to the after centers. That Alaca Höyük has been chosen as a settlement the reasons why Alaca Höyük has been chosen as a settlement, according to the Geographical İnformation Systems; climatic features, geography, geological features, hydrogeology and many other factors, it was estimated with those features. Thanks to the written papers, the city planing of that term was researched. The features of Alaca Höyük was determined by being a compared with other centers. As a result of all these studies. It was reached a result with the information of Alaca Höyük Hittite Imperial Period architecture and planing of the city. Key Words: Alaca Höyük, Hittite Empire Period, Architectural, City.
