Abstract (EN)
Lydia, constituting an important part of Western Anatolia, it has been inhabited since ancient times and hosted civilizations. The actual development of the region took place during the Roman period. Also, this development has been demonstrated in art objects. As a result of the fact that sculptors in the Roman period turned to the construction of sarcophagi, it is possible to trace the evidence of sculptural art and its development in the Roman period from the captured sarcophagi. At this point, the materials I have studied in the thesis topic are important. The work takes its name from the sarcophagus found in Alaşehir in the Uşak Museum. The typology style of the thirteen sarcophagi wreaths found in the Manisa Museum is similar to the Alaşehir Sarcophagus and it is studied within the same group. Previous studies were brought together in the examination of sarcophagi. The sarcophagi, in which the effects of the workshops of Ephesos, Aphrodisias and Caria are seen, also inculing local elements. This shows that the although the region is influenced by different regions as art, it has completed its development in its own line. Alaşehir Type Girland Sarcophagi, examined in four main groups, is increasing day by day with illegal excavations and rescue excavations.
