Abstract (EN)
The term "Nanoceramics" is well known in the ceramic field for at least two decades. Alumina ceramics have good mechanical properties and used for significant applications. In this thesis a study was performed on the synthesis of alumina nanopowders by flame spray pyrolysis. Alumatrane was chosen as precursor was then introduced into the reactor by diluting with an organic solvent such as ethanol to produce alumina ceramic powders. As a process parameters, the effects of the reactant fed dispersing gas and the precursor, the concentration of the precursor used, to the particle size were observed. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive x-ray were used to characterize the powders produced. The results were compared with the information gathered from the literature.
