Abstract (EN)

With the pandemic, we started to connect to global interactive online social communication networks, which we thought made our lives easier, via our mobile devices and to spend more time. This has led to an increase in perception management messages that seek to regulate our decisions and behavior in these networks. However, we do not yet have a scientific method to question the true purpose, accuracy and sources of these messages, which are created using our personal data that we cannot protect with current laws and organized with algorithms. While perception management messages are a threat to users, but it has become an industry where they make billions of dollars each year for mega-tech giants with global interactive online social networks. While the commercial dimension of the threat grows every year, the elimination of the threat falls to the individual users of these platforms. The fact that messages containing perception management, decision and behavior regulation that we encounter on these networks every day are not only social and political, but also in the content of hundreds of advertising messages shows how big the threat is. For this reason, the overlooked socio-ethical component of advertising should also be explored to conduct a scientific discussion of the messages comprising perception management. In the first part of our study, in order to correctly understand how perceptions and behaviors are managed in global interactive online social communication networks, it is first tried to explain how the brain, which is the main board of the human, perceives and makes sense. In the second part, what is the knowledge that the human brain needs to make decisions and take action, what are the differences between data and information that is used synonymously with knowledge but should not be accepted as knowledge, and what are the differences between information disorder or information pollution created in global interactive online social communication networks, and it is tried to explain how these chaos affects our perception and behavior and how it is used in perception and behavior management. In the third section, how these networks, whose reach and effectiveness are increasing, affect the social, political, and commercial decisions of individuals and societies, a global interactive online social micro news network; has been analyzed through Twitter and the use of this channel in Türkiye. In the last part, the 5A Model is proposed as an example of a solution method against manipulations involving perception management and behavior regulation that threaten the society in these networks.
