Abstract (EN)

Wood plastic composites (WPC); are termed composite materials which produced by the incorporation of wood flour or agricultural wastes into the polymer matrix. Pure polymers can be used in WPC production as well as waste polymers. In this study; the mechanical, physical and thermal properties has been defined of wood plastic composites which is produced by using waste newspaper fibres which is treated with alkali. One-screw extrusion has been used in the production of WPCs. Each WPC plates were pressed at 170 °C for 3 minutes in a hot press. The WPC plates were produced in 3 different groups with using high density polyethylene (HDPE) and waste newspaper paper fibres treated with NaOH at different ratios(0%,5%,10%). It has been defined that using waste newspaper fibres pretreated with isn't any negative effects on the physical, mechanical and thermal analysis of WPC production. It has also determined that the best physical, mechanical and thermal properties were obtained from the wood plastic composites produced from waste newspaper fibres treated with 5% NaOH. It has been seen that the waste newspaper fibres used as a filler material could be benefit potentially in this study.
