Abstract (EN)
This research was made to analyze the relationship between perceived social support, internalized stigma and treatment motivation in patients with alcohol and substance use disorder and a few sociodemographic factors related to them. The sample of the study consists of 102 patients who are at 18-65 age range, inpatient in Mersin Çematem and Amatem Clinics and Gaziantep Amatem Clinic between March and May 2021. They were informed about the research and accepted to be part of it. Sociodemographic Data Form, Internalized Stigma Scale in Mental Ilnesses, Multidimensional Perceived Social Support Scale and Treatment Motivation Questionnaire are used to collect data. T test, ANOVA, Kruskal Wallis-H test and Mann-Whitney U test were used in this research. Pearson Correlation Analysis method was used to determine the relationship between variables, and Multiple Regression Analysis method was used to determine the regression levels. The treatment motivation levels differ according to the type of substance used and the the place they live are among the findings of the study. It is stated a positive contribition social support from the family to the internal motivation and interpersonal help-seeking levels of individuals, social support from a special person to the extrinsic motivation levels, and social withdrawal contributed positively to the intrinsic motivation levels of the individuals. It is also stated a negative contribition individuals' interpersonal help seeking levels to perceived discrimination levels, social support levels received from friends to the approval levels of stereotypes.
