Abstract (EN)
In this study, as an extension of the political atmosphere in Turkey, the socialist movement between the Turkish workers in Germany between the years 1970-1980 has been examined. For this, first of all, the historical background of the labor migration from Turkey to Germany was discussed. After discussing the local and international dynamics that paved the way for the development move of the Federal Republic of Germany after the Second World War and known as the "German economic miracle", a short history of modern worker migration has been revealed. Then, the labor force agreement signed between Turkey and Germany in 1961 was discussed and a comparative evaluation of what was expected from this agreement and the results obtained in practice was made. In order to understand the ideological roots of the socialist movement of the Turks in Germany, the main representatives of the left movements, which had an important place in Turkish politics between 1960 and 1980, and what their main thesis were examined. Finally, the first organizations established by Turkish workers in Germany were discussed and information was given about the establishment process, purpose, media organs and member composition of the European Federation of Communalists of Turkey (ATTF), which is the strongest organization emerging from them. Then, the activities of the federation between 1970-1980 were analyzed and interpreted with the data obtained from the media organs accessed from TÜSTAV archives. Thus, a study has been created that will contribute to both migration studies and the historical studies of the socialist movement in Turkey. Keywords: The German Economic Miracle, 1961 Turkey-Federal Republic of Germany Labor Agreement, 1960-1980 Turkish Socialist Movement, Turkish Socialist Workers Movement in Germany, ATTF
