Özet (EN)

Cancer is one of the most important diseases of today. Cancer mechanism, diagnosis, and treatment methods maintain their place in the list of the most researched studies. The use of chemical drugs, surgical operations, and transplants are very common in its treatment. In addition to these treatment methods, studies include the effects of natural and plant-derived substances. Various substances are used in these studies, which are called phytotherapy. In our study, it was aimed to determine the effect and biological activities of Aloe vera and Cocos nucifera on diseased cells and healthy cells. In our study, different concentrations of natural and plant-derived substances such as Aloe vera and Cocos nucifera were investigated for their cytotoxic effects on the L929 Fibroblast cell line and Hep-G2 Hepatocellular Carcinoma cell line. In addition to these studies, their biological activities on various pathogens, prebiotic effects on probiotic microorganisms, and their antioxidant capacity were evaluated. According to the results of the study, A. vera and C.nucifera showed a cytotoxic effect in the Hep-G2 Hepatocellular Carcinoma cell line and proliferated the cells in the L929 cell line. In biological activity tests, it was determined that it had antioxidant effects, but antimicrobial effects against the tested microorganisms could not be determined.
