Abstract (EN)
While inserting dental implants, sometimes we can damage alveolaris inferior by drills. The aim of the study is whether the bone resistance around mandibular canal, avoids perforation by drills during the preparing of the implant socket. Our study includes 99 computerized dental volumetric tomographic views of 99 patients between the ages of 20-79 who were applied for mandibular implant process. The average of the bone thickness was found in premolar region 0.87±0.18 mm and in molar region 0.85±0.17 mm. The average of the bone density was found in premolar region 649.18±241.42 HU and in molar region 584.44±222.73 HU. The diversity between bone density and thickness in regions of premolar and molar region is statistically significant (p<0.001İt has been concluded, that the density and the thickness of the bone resistance around the mandibular canal is not able to avoid the perforation of the drills while preparing implant bedTherefore, it should be identified exactly the bone height above the mandibular canal, should be left enough space above the mandibular canal in order to insert the implants safetly and at least avoiding over-forces while approaching to mandibular canal which decreases risks for damaging the nervus alveolaris inferior.
