Abstract (EN)

The aim of this thesis was to determine the unknown locations and depths of infrastructural elements with a method involving Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). To this end, pilot areas were selected on the campus of Karadeniz Technical University, measurements were taken, and infrastructural elements were identified and marked on an updated map of the campus. Modelling and field studies were performed, including test studies of the model with buried pipes and cables. GPR data concerning parallel lines were then acquired in a field study intended to determine the unknown positions and sizes of buried pipes and cables at 21 sites with shielded antennas of 250, 500, and 800 MHz. Once basic process steps were taken to the data, 2D and 3D images were obtained. By comparing these images to those depicted in modelling studies, places were determined according to which infrastructural elements emerged in the investigation areas.
