Abstract (EN)

From the years of 1990s as the strategy of money, inflation targeting has gained importance to provide economic stability. Inflation concept is not only problem for devoloping countries but also devoloped countries, so economic units started to produce and carry out alternative policies to struggle inflation. New Zeland is the first country that carried out the inflation targeting rejime. As many devoloping and devoloped country economies have accepted it, this rejime started to become widespread. In the first part of the study, foreign exchange rate targeting, monetary targeting, inflation targeting which are the alternative monetary policy strategies are explained. In the second part, it is mentoined about the features of inflation targeting strategy and preconditions. In the third part, the inflation targeting is studied on the basis of countries and discussed about the practising areas in Turkey.
