Abstract (EN)

Joining ceramics to metal materials offers various advantages in terms of properties such as mechanical, thermal and chemical resistance compared to equivalent materials, and they attract attention in the academic and industrial fields. In recent years, the interest in active brazing method has increased due to its use in many areas and its easier and shorter production process compared to traditional joining methods. However, it is necessary to improve the literature data on this subject by continuing the researches. In this context, there is a need to obtain alumina-metal structures with sufficient strength. In this thesis, it is aimed to join ceramic and metal materials, which are preferred in the medical, aerospace and defense industries, by active brazing technique and to determine the parameters for the joining process. In this context, alumina and AISI 316L stainless steel and Ti6Al4V titanium alloy were joined using silver-based active brazing filler alloy (63,0Ag, 35,25Cu, 1,75Ti). Samples produced with different parameters; the process optimization was carried out by investigation the surface roughness effect, microstructural characterization, mechanical and thermal shock tests. For both base metals; ceramic mating surface with an average roughness value of 0.45 µm should be used and when the active brazing process was applied at 830°C for 10 minutes at brazing vacuum value of 10-5 mbar.
