Abstract (EN)

In this study, the deformation behavior of 6060 aluminum alloy profile structure under three point bending load was investigated experimentally and numerically. In this respect, the use of crash-critical profile structures, which are used to increase safety against collisions, especially in automobiles, are examined. Within the scope of the thesis, three-point bending tests were carried out using AA6060 alloy, which has two different cross-section geometries, trapezoidal and elliptical, with 100mm, 160mm and 200mm support spans and 5mm and 10mm punch radius has been obtained experimentally. As a result of the experimental studies, it has bee determined that the force required for bending of the material is less when the distances beetwen the supports spans increase, and the force required fort he bending of the rapezoidal profile is higher than the profile with the elliptical profile section geometry due to the differences in the section geometries. In the second step of the study, finite element analyzes were performed using Piecewise Linear Plasticity, 3-parameter Barlat, σ-based Hill-48 and r-based Hill-48 plasticity models, and force-elongation curves, thickness values and shaped product forms were compared with the experimental results. σ-based Hill-48 and r-based Hill-48 plasticity models, and force-elongation curves, thickness values and shaped product forms were compared with the experimental results. As a result of the comparisons, it was determined that the force elongation curves and product forms were compatible with the experimental results
