Abstract (EN)
Amasya -chosen by many cultures and nations as area of life regarding its geographical location and historical aspects- has became a place with significant cultural richness where Ottoman princes were raised in the Ottoman Era. This study consists introduction, three chapters and conclusion. Introduction part discusses the research subject, aim of the study, importance of the study, the scope, its limits and descriptions at the end. First chapter depicts brief history of Amasya and the geographical location/socio-cultural structure. Second chapter adresses religious visit, evaluation sociologically, religious sites, and the aims of visits. Third chapter covers the field investigations on religious sites of Amasya city center, interviews, and objective interpretations upon that. Conclusion part contains the evaluation of research findings. By taking into account of the site breadth, the study was circumscribed with Amasya city center. Upon investigations within the study; many tombs, graves, pits, trees, grounds etc. are determined as religious sites. Some of the places are visited more frequently that in turn become an arena where diverse rituals performed, however the others are fade into oblivion. In the part of the religious sites, persons famously recognized as Veli, Pir or Şeyh in their period are buried. In the others, people such as Şehzade, Paşa or statesmen are buried. The religious sites are studied within the scope of the thesis and evaluations derived from the researches are objectively handled.
