The application of reverse logistics in waste packaging and recommendations

For centuries, human beings have acquired, used and consumed quite a lot of resources they need. In all generations, this cycle has worked in this way. However, this cycle has caused environmental damage and the depletion of natural resources, thus this has increased even more pressure on natural resources. Today, human beings have become aware of this and have taken an important step towards sustainable development. With the rising awareness of the fact that all the products used are derived from natural sources, and that the natural resources may be depleted in the near future, both national and international legislations have taken action on this issue. As a result, human beings and businesses have given great attention to sustainable development. With fewer natural resources, raw materials and energy, sustainability produces more. Today, the Reverse Logistics Management, which is one of the basic principles of business disciplines, has made sustainability one of its principles. The Reverse Logistics Management, which includes the collection of packaging waste that can be recycled from the consumer point, the re-use of packaging waste, and the recycling activities, has considered in a holistic structure. For businesses, sustainable development can only be achieved by not wasting natural resources, promoting sustainable development, protecting environmental values and economic development of rational methods for the next generations.The aim of this study is provide some of the residents of the neighbourhood in Eskisehir with awareness of packaging waste recycling process, and to present a proposal for increasing awareness of the measurement and analysis of the situation.
