Abstract (EN)

Schiff bases and azo dyes have been widely used in recent years. Especially Schiff bases are used in the preparation of drugs used in the treatment of many diseases, including cancer. Azo dyes are used in many sectors such as food, textile and so on. Polymers produced from Schiff base and azo dyestuffs are also commonly preferred as environmentally friendly in the adsorption process. Polymers have properties that make them preferable. Due to these properties, it is used in the production of materials in wastewater treatment systems and in the textile industry. Polymers are widely used in healthcare. In the thesis study, 3 different Schiff bases and 3 different azo dyestuffs were synthesized by using 2-amino pyridine, 2-Amino-5-Methyl Pyridine and 2-Amino-5- Chloro Pyridine starting materials. New acryloyl-derived polymers have been synthesized by using synthetic compounds. The structures of the obtained compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic methods such as IR, NMR, and mass spectroscopy, thus contributing to the literature. Synthesis of polymers containing both Schiff and acryloyl groups is a very important study in terms of usage area. The molecular weight of the compound obtained as a result of the polymerization reaction is of medium size. The conversion rate of synthesis compounds increased up to 87.94%. The study is promising in terms of studies on the use of the obtained synthesis compounds in different fields.
