The journey of Greek music influenced by Anatolian geography in seeking musical identity

Anatolian lands, which have hosted many civilizations, still continue to host traditions, cultures and music, even though centuries have passed. It is an inevitable result that cultures living in the same region for many years left their traces and that other societies followed and adopted these traces. The clarity of the results encountered when the subject of how the interactions are adopted in common points and their origins has not been fully confirmed. Important points in history must be known in order to better understand how intercultural interaction unites at basic points, how it becomes an inseparable part in their lives, and how it affects traditions and music. In this research, it is aimed to examine the journey of Greek music influenced by Anatolian geography in search of musical identity. It is a qualitative research study and the general survey model was used in the study. As a type of research, it is a descriptive historical research. Source scanning and document analysis methods were used. The subject of the research is in line with the determined purpose; the periods that were effective in the formation of the musical identities of the Greek communities that lived together for many years on the same land; the effect of Greek and Greek identities living in Anatolian geography on Greek music; the effect of the periods of independence and population exchange on the differentiation of the musical identity of Greece has been examined with sub-problem titles. In the 20th century, information was given about the common music of the two societies that enjoyed popular music, and the written and visual sources obtained in the country and abroad on the subject were given descriptively, taking a broad perspective objectively.
