Abstract (EN)
In this study, the influence of the Anatolian folk architecture and building culture were studied in the architecture of Cengiz Bektaş, who himself gave importance to Anatolian folk architecture, and residental buildings of Bektaş designed in Denizli were examined in order to see and detect the traces of the use Anatolian folk architecture and building culture therein. Fort his purpose, in the first part of the thesis, folk architecture and Anatolian building culture were examined and analyzed conceptually. In the second part of the thesis, the traces of folk architecture and Anatolian building culture are sought and explained in the development of Turkish architecture, along with the currents and concepts that are related with the topic in the world. In the third chapter of the thesis, traces of Anatolian folk architecture and building culture in Cengiz Bektaş archi-tecture were examined and studied in the context of his theoretical studies and archi-tectural works. In this context, firstly, Cengiz Bektaş's architectural understanding was analyzed, and then his works related to folk architecture and Anatolian building culture were examined. After that, within the scope of the case study that examined the traces of Anatolian folk architecture and building culture in Cengiz Bektaş's houses in Denizli, first the characteristics of traditional Denizli houses were studied, and then the five houses designed by Bektaş in Denizli were examined and analyzed in detail. Finally, the information obtained as a result of the analyzes was evaluated within the framework of Anatolian folk architecture and building culture. As a result of the theoretical analyses and onsite investigations, it was concluded that Cengiz Bektaş created a new architectural interpretation by synthesizing the features of Anatolian folk architecture and building culture within the framework of the modern and contemporary requirements of the period while designing his buildings.
