The evaluation of management supervision in Anatolian High Schools and Technical and Vocational Anatolian High Schools

The importance of supervision is increasing to stay behind the time in the developing and changing world. Researches emphasize the idea of development will fail to occur without supervision. Analyses indicate that constant education supervision with appropriate timing is essential for development itself. As a result of these analyses, the importance of systematic educational supervision is increased every day. Throughout history, education supervision has been applied in all countries in many different ways. Nevertheless, some changes have been made in these ways, sometimes according to the educational aims, schools' types and education philosophy. Also, in Turkey, many recent studies have been conducted for training control in educational supervision. Educational institutions implemented necessary regulations seen in educational supervision regarding the work carried out. Sometimes these arrangements have been simple and sometimes radical. The main point of these arrangements is the development of education in a quick and better way. In this study , the aim is to analyze the principals' views about education supervision in the Anatolian High Schools and Vocational High Schools. Therefore after the theoretical substructure, the scale was applied in schools chosen randomly in Istanbul. In this thesis, the views of the principals and vice-principals on educational supervision are considered. The sample of the study consists of a total of 176 administrators, 85 school principals, and 91 deputy principals, selected by random sampling method in Tuzla, Pendik, Kartal, Maltepe, Ataşehir, Sultanbeyli, Üsküdar, Ümraniye, Kadıköy, Beşiktaş, Sarıyer in Istanbul. It is observed that administrators generally agreed with the measurement tool with the idea that educational supervision practices contributed positively to the school climate with close answers, and the necessity of increasing supervision studies is emphasized.
