Investigation of academic procrastination behaviour among the students in anotolian high school

Abstract (EN)

In this study,the academic procrastinations behaviours of the students in Anatolian High Schools were examined the relationship in birth order, gender, age, grade level, parents, education, goal setting and academic achievement. Research samples are the students who study in the Ministry of National Education Anatolian High Schools of Cukurova, Seyhan and Yuregir in Adana. The academic year is 2015-2016. The research contains 527 students and these students are selected by random sampling method from different level grades in Adana city center. In this study, 'Academic Procrastination Scale' developed by Çakıcı (2003) was used to determine students' academic procrastination tendencies. In addition, Personal Information Form that includes the variables was used. As a result of this investigation, the levels of the students' academic procrastination behaviour in birth order, gender, grade, level and mother education don't create a significant difference according to the independant variables, but goal setting, academic achievement and dad education have a significant difference.
