Abstract (EN)

The cultural heritage of Anatolia was examined as geographical elements in mosaics, the elements that stand out in the distribution of mosaics and the place of mosaics in tourism in a multidimensional way in the present study. Anatolian geography offering all the possibilities that are the preconditions for the foundation of a deep-rooted culture has a magnificent heritage in terms of its mosaics as well. It is important to synthesize the relationships between cultural assets and space from a multidisciplinary point of view for the conservation, evaluation, and transfer of this heritage to the future generations. In the historical process, the mosaics, which exist with culturally rich contents reflecting the aesthetic understanding, thought and belief system of their period, beyond being an element of architectural decoration; were evaluated with this understanding. In the study, a comprehensive literature review was conducted, and the mosaics were examined accompanied by a selection of Anatolian mosaics in different categories with architectural and geographical space, the period in which they were created, materials, techniques, and themes. Analysis of cultural components through mosaics aims to contribute to the deepening of the view on the cultural accumulation of Anatolia.
