Abstract (EN)
Akhism Organization, the Unity and working principles of tradesmen and craftsmen of Turks living in Anatolia in the XIIIth century emerges as a Turkish institution. In addition, Akhism; it is a comprehensive moral education center which aims to bring the values of Akhism to all stages of daily life together with the moral values that it brings up as much as it is a professional organization. In our study of the functions of the Akhism organization it has been arrived to the conclusion that it is not possible to limit its functions to a certain function. Depending on these many functions (economy, education, morality, social, religion, etc.), it has been observed that the members of the Akhism Organization, when its place come, are in the side of the city administrators. Accordingly, it is observed that they fulfill local services in the cities they are in and thus they alleviate the economic burden of the state. Beyond that, it is believed that they play an indirect role in the management of the city or state, even if they are not directly involved. The literature review we have conducted shows that the functions and aims of the Akhism Organization have not lost their continuity today, but they try to live under the name of different institutions and have a renewed vitality. This study consists of four main parts. In the first one, general information about Akhism organization is given. In the second one, the functions of the Akhism Organization are extensively handled. In the third one, information about city management in Anatolian Seljuk State was given and the effects of Akhism Organization on city management were examined. In the last one, the issue of how the Akhism Organization reflects today under different institutions is emphasized.
