The influence of Anatolian civilizations on paintings of Hüsamettin Koçan

In this study, the impact of Anatolian civilizations on the paintings of Hüsamettin Koçan was investigated. In the first chapter Anatolian civilization were reviewed and their mutual characteristics, the perception of culture, the formation of symbols were described in two sections: pre-İslamic and post-Islamic. In the following steps, since it is in the scope of this study, shamanic cultures and related symbols were focused on and Seljuk and Ottoman civilization symbols were explained in general. The second chapter of the study contains the biography of the painter, research design, data gathering process, semi-structured interview questions, notes from the interviews and their interpretation. The research design is descriptive. Hüsamettin Koçan, attracting our attention with his use of Anatolian Symbols in Turkish painting, is the subject of this descriotion. To determine the impact of Anatolian civilizations on the paintings of Hüsamettin Koçan, semi-structured interview technique was applied. In the third chapter, in findings and interpretation section, the semi-structured interview questions, which were prepared in tune with the research problem, were used. In this section, ideas and comments of the interviewee regarding Anatolian civilization symbols were presented in question-answer format. The findings defined in the study were further explained by the researcher, linked to various concepts and interpreted.
