Abstract (EN)

The number of solar and wind power plants is increasing day by day among the renewable energy sources known as environment and nature friendly in electrical energy production. The use of renewable energy sources within sustainable energy policies is becoming more important day by day. Our country has aboundant resources in terms of wind and solar energy. Location is an important parameter in the generation of electricity from solar and wind. Whether a region or area is suitable for energy production is decided as a result of long-term measurements and calculations. Since a project provides the energy production values predicted in planning, it directly affects the payback period of the project cost, so calculations must be made correctly. Within the scope of the thesis, two different models were obtained by using the energy production data of a solar power plant established in Balıkesir Province, using analytical and deep learning methods known as artificial intelligence. In the analytical modeling study, the catalog data of the solar panels used in the field were used in order to make the comparison with the real system accurate. The model was implemented in the MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. When the data of the analytical model and the real system are compared, it is seen that the created model gives very close values to the real data. In the deep learning method, a large amount of data is needed. This information was taken from the currently used PVGIS-SARAH2 database and used in the deep learning model. Some of the data used in the study was used for training and some for testing. During the modeling process, the data were obtained from the Turkish State Meteorological Service, Photovoltaic Geographical Information System (PVGIS-SARAH2) and the database of the American National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL-NSRDB). Within the scope of the thesis, the factors affecting the energy efficiency in the solar power plant were examined through the model and studies were carried out to achieve optimum efficiency.
