Özet (EN)

The aim of the study is to investigate the effect of analytical writing and evaluation on sixth grade students' attitudes towards writing and achievements on writing. In order to test the research hypotheses the quantitative method of quasi experimental method with pre test and post test was employed. The participants were 88 sixth grade students at Ayvalık Onbeş Eylül Secondary School of the 2014- 2015 education year. The study lasted 9 weeks. The lessons in the experimental group comprised activities of the analytical writing and evaluation and the lessons in the control group were in the format specified by Ministry of Education of Turkey. In the study data related to students' writing achievement and attitudes towards writing were collected. Wilcoxon signed rank test, Mann- Whitney U test, frequency and percentage analyses were performed on the quantitative data. The findings revealed a significant difference in the writing achievement of the experimental group.As fort he effect of the analytical writing and evaluation on students' attitudes towards writing a significant difference was found in the experimental group.
