Abstract (EN)
This thesis aims to analyze the extent to which the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade English textbooks used in Turkish public primary schools align with 21st-century skills. The study focuses on key competencies such as communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and creativity. Conducted as a qualitative study, it employs document analysis to examine the textbooks systematically. The findings reveal that only a limited number of activities directly promote these skills. The study concludes that there are significant shortcomings in the current textbooks regarding the development of 21st-century skills, and recommends a revision of instructional materials accordingly.
