Abstract (EN)

The thesis titled American Culture Criticism in the Art of Andy Warhol has been examined in four parts. In the first part, the history of American culture and the formation of the consumer society and the popularization and spread of this behavior and thought throughout the world were researched, and the effects of these developments on the works of the artists of the period were examined. In the second part, the reflections and effects of the concept of consumption, which influenced the whole world, in art were analyzed through the works of artists of the period. In the third part, research was conducted on the philosophy of Andy Warhol, who best reflects the consumer society in contemporary art and is the pioneer of the pop art movement, and how he reflects American Culture with his works. In the fourth chapter, we will focus on how this contradictory philosophy, which was influenced by the sampled artists, brought to Alara Dizdaroğlu's art.
