Abstract (EN)
We aimed to observe the effect of reducing ambient noise during the awakening phase after nasal surgeries on postoperative agitation, pain, nausea, patients' vital signs, and awakening times. Eighty patients aged 18-50 years, classified as ASA I-II and undergoing elective surgery, were divided into two groups (Group S with noise reduction and Group G without noise reduction). The patients' vital signs, agitation scores, pain, and nausea assessments were compared between the groups at specific times, as well as the operation duration and awakening times. The data showed significantly less agitation and pain in the Group S. The hemodynamic values of the Group S during the awakening phase were closer to their baseline values. Noise reduction methods reduced agitation, pain, and opioid requirements in patients. Additionally, noise reduction provided more stable vital signs during and after the awakening phase.
