A study on determination of agricultural characteristics of some green lentil varieties in ecological conditions of Ankara province (Kalecik district)

In this study, the grain yields and yield components of different lentil varieties (Sultan-1, Meyveci 2001, Çiftçi, Karagül, Bozok, Ceren, Gümrah, Delta Gold, Delta Green) were investigated under the ecological conditions of Kalecik District, Ankara Province, during the 2025 growing season. In the study, the following variations were observed: 50% flowering days ranged from 64.33 to 73.67 days, 50% pod formation days from 70.00 to 80.00 days, maturation days from 89,00 to 96,33 days, plant height from 20.47 to 26,40 cm, first pod height from 8.43 to 13.03 cm, number of main branches per plant from 2.43 to 2.90, number of pods per plant from 20.93 to 25.37, grain yield from 95.67 to 118.83 kg/da⁻¹, harvest index from 28.80% to 38.73%, and thousand-grain weight from 33.17 to 38.30 g. According to the results obtained from the study, the average grain yield was found to be 107.81 kg/da⁻¹. The highest grain yield was obtained from the Bozok variety (118.83 kg/da⁻¹), while the lowest grain yield was observed in the Delta Green variety (95.67 kg/da⁻¹). Based on the results of one year of research, it is not possible to recommend any specific lentil variety for the Ankara region. Data obtained from the second year of the study, along with field yields, will provide more definitive results.
