The examination of the old age expectations and the percepti̇ons of people aged 45 andolder in terms of sociodemographiccharacteristics

This is a quantitative study aiming to describe the expectations and the perceivings of people aged 45 and older regarding old age. It attempts to examine the change of differentiations regarding old age period within the frame of sociodemographic factors. During the exercises carried out in Ankara, 408 people, which is chosen coincidentally with the paradigm in accordance with the population age structure of Ankara, are reached. In the research, the following is used: Demographic Information Form, Europe Attitudes of Aging Questionnaire (EAAQ) and World Health Organization Quality of Life Form (WHOQOL-OLD). The data analysis is carried out via SPSS packaged software. The study attempts to identify correlation between the variants and tests of Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis. In conclusion, it is determined that the demographic variants are determinant over the perceiving and the expectations over old age.
